Over the last few months we have seen multiple Fortnite influencers promote their brands through both official and unofficial in game tournaments and events. However, a new event has risen with a bit of a twist, zone-wars. Faze Sway, one of the most recognizable names in Fortnite today is teaming up with Gfuel to present the Sway Series 25k Zone Wars invitational.
Within a newly created custom zone-wars map, Sway will betaking on some of the best competitive Fortnite players who will be competingfor their chance at the 25k prize pool and the bragging rights of taking down arguably the zone wars king himself.
Looking at the specifics of the event, there will be eight trio’s contending within a double elimination bracket where all teams will begunning for a spot in the finals hoping to bring home the first-place prize of15k. You can find all tournament information here.
Some trios to highlight include the host Faze Sway teamin gup with DC who has been on a zone-wars tear as of recent and Scrubz. Another top contender is the trio of Bugha, NRG’s Clix, and Faze Bizzle who recently finished fifth in the last FNCS grand finals. Also, Unkownxarmy winner of multiple BFC zone wars titles will be teaming up with BBG Bucke and Ajerss. Let’s not forget some other notable names making appearances including ENDLESS Deyy, XTRA Reet, and Faze’s own Megga and Dubs. Seeing this stacked lineup of teams makes it hard for me to believe that the competition today won’t be one to remember.
The tournament is going to be hosted on Faze’s own Twitch channel today at 4:00PM EDT (1:00 PM PDT). The event will be casted by ShyoWager and recent Faze 5winner Faxuty. This will be Faxuty’s first official cast and if we know anything about his on-stream persona, he will be bringing “ALL DAT” energy to the table.
If I had to insert my pick for who will be taking home the top prize it would be hard to bet against tournament host Sway, but I am goingto stick with my gut call of team Unknown. However, only time will tell if my prediction will hold up.
