One Percent Cup
With the fourth season of Fortnite’s second chapter coming to a close, many players have turned to future comp game modes to try and get ahead of the competition. With this new competitive game mode being leaked as duos, community figures and organizations have come together with Epic Games to produce two competitive tournaments before the end of season four.

Firstly, One Percent, an organization created in July 2020 by popular content creators Kiwiz, Randumb, Formula, Nicks, Aeolus and Razz have teamed up with Epic Games to bring you the “One Percent Cup”. With over 95,000 members signed up already across two of the most competitive regions in Fortnite, NA-East and NA-West, it is sure to be an exciting two days of competition.

The One Percent Duos Cup takes place on November 17th 2020, and is played across two different sessions. Players will have a maximum of 3 hours to complete 10 games, with the top 1% of duos proceeding to the second round. The One Percent Cup runs from 3:00PM EST - 10:00PM EST, and while the event is only being supported on NAE and NAW servers, it is not region locked. For example, if you are from the EU, you can still play in the cup but you will have to deal with the ping, not to mention the late night you will have to endure if you end up making finals.

With one of the most placement heavy scoring systems seen so far in a Fortnite tournament, it will be interesting to see how the games turn out. Smart rotations, Storm-Surge tags and late game pop-offs seem to be the key to performing well in this tournament. For more information about the scoring system in the One Percent Cup -

With $10,000 USD in prizing money, this looks to be a competitive event where players can show off their placement ability and show the true thoughtfulness that comes with making smart rotations and getting key tags while under immense pressure. If the cup is received well, Epic could take note and we may be looking at the future points system for season fives FNCS.
